In a colorful event held Thursday 28th June 2018 at UNILAK Kigali Campus, 206 graduates who have fulfilled all the requirements both in the undergraduate programs as well as master’s programs got their degrees.
Among the graduates 189 have completed the undergraduate program while 17 have completed their master’s program.
The graduates were from four faculties offered by UNILAK in all its campuses Kigali, Nyanza and Rwamagana namely Economic Sciences and Management, Law, Computing and Information Sciences and Environmental Studies.
All the speakers urged the graduates to dream big and to make their dreams a reality. They were advised to always strive for innovation as a secret of competitiveness in this current world.
In his speech, Dr. Ngamije Jean, the Vice Chancellor of UNILAK congratulated the graduates for their achievement and urged them to use the knowledge acquired to make a better world.
Graduates were not only tasked to make a better a world but also to be faithful wherever they will go.
His words were echoed by Dr. Muvunyi Emmanuel, the Executive Director of High Education Council, who was also the guest of honor in the ceremony.
He hailed the University for its achievements; reference made from the previous audits held by the High Education Council.
“There is no doubt that you have acquired the knowledge and skills that are needed in your further steps, UNILAK has all it takes for a quality education;” said Dr. Muvunyi Emmanuel.
“Based on the number of lecturers as well as their levels of education and also the efforts of UNILAK in building the capacity of its lecturers as well as the equipments at the disposal of the university, I can only recommend other higher learning institutions to take a good example from UNILAK,” added Dr. Muvunyi.
The graduation ceremony held this June was the first of its kind and was meant for March Intake students
Normally, UNILAK holds a single graduation at every end of the year, but in order to facilitate those who started their studies in March intake to get their degrees without waiting those who started in September intake, we thought about this graduation in the mid of the year,” said Dr. Rutamu Augustine, the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academics and Research.
